Vasif Naseer
Debut fantasy author of the Fractured Light epic fantasy trilogy
Biography
Vasif Naseer is a UK-based fantasy author of South Asian heritage, living in Derby. Fractured Light: Echoes of the Ancients, published on 8 June 2026, is his debut novel and the first book of a planned trilogy.
He grew up reading fantasy and saw very few South Asian men among the names on the spines. He writes to add to that shelf: character-driven epic fantasy about flawed, determined people under impossible pressure, the families they choose, and what love costs when the world is breaking.
His working life is in UK corporate tax, advising international groups, and the precision of that work runs through the books. The magic follows rules, the lineage of the gods is mapped generation by generation, and every power has a price. His long-term ambition is to bring the Fractured Light world to a wider audience, on the page and eventually on screen.
